🔐

Account & Login

Help with signing in, passwords, email addresses, and account access.

I cannot sign in. What should I check?
Confirm that you are using the correct email address or username, check for typing errors, and make sure Caps Lock is off. Use the password reset option when needed. Check spam and junk folders if the reset email does not appear.
I did not receive a password reset email.
Check spam, junk, promotions, and filtered folders. Wait several minutes before requesting another email. Confirm that the address entered matches the address connected to your account.
Can I change my account email address?
Available account settings may allow you to update your email address. You may need to confirm the new address before the change becomes active.
How do I request account deletion?
Use the account deletion option when available or contact support through the Contact Us page. Include the email connected to the account.
👤

Profiles & Privacy

Editing your profile, adding details, and controlling what you share.

How do I edit my profile?
Open your profile and choose the available edit option. Update your profile highlights, personal details, profile photo, cover photo, interests, links, or other available sections.
Why are some profile fields optional?
QueerFriends gives members control over how much they share. Optional fields let you build a useful profile without requiring details you prefer to keep private.
Can I change who sees a profile field?
Some profile fields include visibility or privacy controls. Review each field’s available setting before saving.
Why is my profile photo not updating?
Confirm that the image type and file size are supported. Refresh the page after uploading. A cached version may briefly remain visible.
Can I use a chosen name?
Yes. Members should represent themselves honestly, though a full legal name is not required for public display. Names must not impersonate or deliberately mislead others.
📅

Groups & Events

Joining groups, finding activities, and participating in community events.

How do I find a group?
Visit the Groups directory and use search or available filters to explore groups by interest, location, identity, activity, or community focus.
How do I join a group?
Open the group page and select the join option. Public groups may allow immediate entry. Private groups may require approval.
How do I find events near me?
Visit the Events or What’s Happening area and use location, date, category, or search tools when available.
Does QueerFriends organize every event?
No. Events may be created by members, organizations, businesses, community partners, or external organizers. Review the organizer and event details before attending.
Can I create a group or event?
Group and event creation may be available based on account access, launch stage, community rules, and future creator tools.
💬

Messages & Connections

Messaging, replies, reactions, blocks, and respectful interaction.

How do I message another member?
Open the member’s profile and use the available message option. Access may depend on privacy settings, blocks, or platform permissions.
Why can’t I message someone?
The member may have restricted messages, blocked your account, changed privacy settings, or no longer be available.
How do replies work?
Use Reply beneath a comment to respond directly. Replies appear under the related parent comment so conversations remain organized.
How do I block someone?
Open the member’s profile or available options menu and select Block. Blocking is designed to stop unwanted interaction.
What should I do about unwanted messages?
Do not continue engaging when you feel unsafe or pressured. Block the account and report the message or member when the behavior violates community standards.
🎵

Photos, Media & My Music

Help with images, albums, links, music, and embedded media.

How do I add photos?
Use the available Photos or Albums area on your profile. Choose supported image files and wait for the upload to complete before leaving the page.
Why is an image taking time to appear?
Large files, slower connections, image processing, or cached content may delay the visible update. Refresh once the upload is complete.
What is My Music?
My Music lets members display selected music or supported media links on their profiles. Available services may include Spotify, DISCO, Tidal, Apple Music, Bandcamp, YouTube, and supported external links.
Why does a music link not play inside the page?
Some platforms restrict embedded playback or require visitors to open the content on the original service. Availability depends on the provider.
Can I remove media later?
Yes. Return to the relevant profile editing area and remove or replace the media.
🛡️

Safety, Blocking & Reporting

What to do when you encounter harassment, scams, threats, or other concerning behavior.

How do I report a member or content?
Use the Report option on the relevant profile, post, comment, message, photo, group, or event. Include enough detail to help QueerFriends understand what occurred.
What happens after I submit a report?
The report may receive an initial safety assessment, additional review when needed, and action based on available evidence, severity, context, and risk.
Will the other person know I reported them?
QueerFriends does not publicly identify the person who submitted a report. Reporter information is handled with discretion.
What are common scam warning signs?
Be cautious when someone quickly asks for money, gift cards, banking information, login codes, or private financial details. Watch for conflicting stories, urgent pressure, impersonation, and attempts to move conversations off-platform immediately.
